X-TREME WORSHIP FAQ

X-TREME WORSHIP X-Treme is an excellent time to introduce friends and family to West Shore, especially those who are looking for a deeper walk with God. If you have been seeking the Lord right now about something and need a break-through of blessings, this just may be your night. God seems to have been speaking to us on the staff about receiving His blessings lately, so let's come expecting just that as faithful people gathering in response to God's call on our lives.

Q: What's the difference between X-Treme worship and our regular Sunday morning worship?

A: Sunday morning is designed specifically to be a Seeker-Oriented service that people of all walks of life and all faith-levels can relate to and feel comfortable with. X-Treme Worship is designed to be a Believer-Oriented service where people of faith can gather to worship more intentionally, and have the opportunity for specific prayer ministry. The worship time with music is expanded a bit to allow believers to "press in" more closely to God and to seek His face. Prayer teams are available for people to receive specific prayer for healing, relationships and situations.

Q: Why is X-Treme Worship on a Wednesday night rather than on a Sunday morning?

A: At West Shore we have come to find that people in our region, even if they have not professed Christ as believers, nevertheless feel that IF they would go to a church at all, the right time to do that would be on a Sunday morning. So we reserve that time (Sunday morning) to concentrate our efforts on a "low-to-no-barrier" experience where ANYONE can feel comfortable in an introductory "come and see" spiritual setting, and yet still hear the Good News of Jesus Christ proclaimed in a manner relevant to the lives we all live. It is our response to the spiritual hunger of Post-Modern Society. Wednesday Night is the place reserved for "going deeper" on a voluntary basis. Hence, "X-Treme Worship".

Q: Why is it important for me to come to X-Treme Worship?

A: Two primary reasons:

  • First, as a member and/or attendee of West Shore, you don't get the "whole load" on Sunday morning, and that is by design. Sunday morning is designed for you to participate in the Good News by bringing guests to a "low-to-no-barrier" event. Excellent music, fun fellowship and a hopeful message are consistently offered so that no matter when you bring a guest, you can be confident that they will have a "good shot" at a positive experience. You know they won't be bored with church. The whole point of the Sunday service is about "them". The whole point of X-Treme worship is about you and your God.
  • Second, and closely related to the first, believers need a time to gather together more exclusively in worship to bring honor and glory to God and to receive His blessings upon the church. X-Treme is one of the places (along with your small group) to get spiritually fed.

I am looking forward to worshiping and to be in prayer with you. "Nothing significant happens in the Kingdom of God apart from prayer". I cannot remember anymore who said that, but whoever it was, they knew what they were talking about.

Faithfully Yours,
Chris
